Caregivers Do Not Replace Licensed Providers

OmugwoCare is designed to complement, not replace, licensed care and community support.
Caregivers may help with practical support at home, but they do not replace:

Doctors

Nurses

Midwives

Doulas

Lactation consultants

Therapists

Hospitals

Emergency responders

Licensed home health providers

Other licensed professionals

When Needs Exceed Scope

If a caregiver observes that a mother or family may need support beyond OmugwoCare’s non-medical scope, the caregiver should not attempt to solve the issue independently.

The caregiver should:

Encourage the family to contact a licensed provider or emergency services when appropriate

Notify OmugwoCare through the approved reporting process

Document the concern according to OmugwoCare policy

Stay within non-medical support boundaries

Avoid giving medical advice, diagnosis, treatment guidance, or clinical interpretation

Do OmugwoCare caregivers provide medical care?

No. OmugwoCare caregivers provide non-medical postpartum support only. They do not provide medical care, nursing care, therapy, diagnosis, emergency services, clinical monitoring, or treatment.

Can caregivers help with meals and light household support?

Yes. Caregivers may help with practical support such as meals, rest protection, laundry, dishes, visitor boundaries, companionship, and Family Care Circle coordination.

Can caregivers give medical or lactation advice?

No. Caregivers may not provide medical advice, lactation consulting, diagnosis, treatment, medication guidance, clinical monitoring, or therapy.

Does applying guarantee placement?

No. Submitting an application does not guarantee selection, employment, contract, approval, or placement. OmugwoCare may require screening, training, and ongoing quality review.
