The Need

Many mothers return home after birth without enough practical support. Clinical follow-up is important, but mothers also need rest, meals, household help, emotional reassurance, family coordination, newborn transition support, and referral navigation.
OmugwoCare helps partners address the non-medical support gap that many families experience during the first 40 days after childbirth.

Pilot Model

The Omugwo Village Pilot can be designed for:

  • 25 to 50 mothers
  • 3 to 6 months
  • 5 to 10 trained non-medical caregivers
  • One partner organization or small partner network
  • Mother intake and support assessment
  • 40-Day Mother Care Plan
  • Family Care Circle coordination
  • Caregiver matching request
  • Referral escalation pathway
  • De-identified reporting

Partner Role

Partners may help with outreach, referrals, enrollment, community resource mapping, cultural feedback, evaluation input, and sustainability planning.

OmugwoCare Role

OmugwoCare provides the program framework, mother intake workflow, 40-Day Mother Care Plan, Family Care Circle coordination, caregiver matching request process, caregiver training framework, referral escalation workflow, and de-identified pilot reporting.

De-Identified Reporting

OmugwoCare can provide partners with de-identified and aggregated reporting, such as mothers enrolled, needs assessments completed, care plans completed, caregiver matching requests, support priorities, referral categories, satisfaction, and support-readiness trends.
Individual mother information will not be shared with partners without appropriate consent and legal review.
